allie bunch: COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Tell us about your family:
I am married to Eric Bunch -- the kindest man you'll ever meet -- and am the proud mommy to a precious baby boy named Banning.
Where is your hometown?
I was born and raised not far from here, in Orangeburg, SC (AKA: "the BURG")
Briefly tell us how you came to faith in Christ:
I grew up in a Christ proclaiming home, and attended church every Sunday and Wednesday night for as long as I can remember, but I don’t believe it was until my freshman year of college that the veil was lifted from my eyes, and I was allowed to know and believe the truth – that I am a wretched sinner in desperate need of Jesus Christ, my Savior. Up until that point, I had been deceived into thinking that salvation and the Father’s love were to be earned. I knew all too well the discouragement and hopelessness that came from always falling short and never being enough. As I graduated high school and began college at the University of South Carolina, the Lord used my family, a ministry called Younglife, and my Columbia church home as tools to reveal himself to me and to show me what it looks like to live a new life in Christ. Praise God I am not given what I deserve, but am instead loved and accepted as his beloved child in Christ Jesus. “It is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
What's one interesting fact about yourself?
Not sure if anyone else would consider this an interesting fact, but my nails are rarely ever NOT painted. One of my favorite things to do after a long workday is to give myself a manicure. It’s therapeutic for me, and I just don’t feel complete without polish on my nails. My husband has forbidden me from buying any more bottles of polish…
What's a favorite Bible verse and why?
Psalm 73:21-26 "When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant before you; yet I am always with you. You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Why? – Because it’s truth that I must remind myself of daily. I am so quick to forget that all I have is Christ.
