Shianne Joner: Year-Long Intern

Tell us about your family:

I am the youngest of six kids, three brothers and two sisters. I have three nephews, five nieces, and was raised by two loving and amazing parents.

 Where is your hometown?

I was born and raised in the small town of Plains, Montana

Briefly tell us how you came to faith in Christ:

Being brought up in the church, and with parents and siblings who pursued personal relationships with Jesus, I became aware of my need of a Savior at the age of five. However, as I grew older I drifted from that relationship with Christ and pursued my own desires. Through His faithful pursuit and grace, I recommitted my life to Christ at age 17 and since then it has been a daily walk, surrender, and joy going deeper with my Savior and understanding the heart of my Father.

What's one interesting fact about yourself?

I was born and raised in MT and said numerous times that I would NEVER move to South Carolina.

What's a favorite Bible verse and why?

Psalms 145:13 “The Lord is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works” This verse has been impactful in my life in multiple ways, and is one I find great rest in. My reality is that I serve a faithful Father who only does wonderful things, and this verse has reminded never to doubt Him, His plans, or the circumstances He places within our lives.

What are your hopes for JICC?

My hope for JICC is that as individuals and as a body we would continually seek to be filled, and reflect Christ for His glory as Paul prays in Ephesians 3. “That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints
