SuNDAY Guest Services Teams

Auditorium Team

If you have a heart for hospitality, hosting, and want everyone to have a great experience during the worship service, then you need to check out the Auditorium Team. They greet and talk with guests as they come into the sanctuary prior to the worship service, with a focus on finding new guests and connecting them with other families and ministries within the church. This team also helps with the “flow,” helping guests find seats, watching for anyone with special needs. Then at the end of the service, they help people find a prayer team member and escort all guests not receiving prayer to the back of the auditorium.

The Usher Team is for male members of JICC that have a desire to serve during the worship service. They serve as ushers, taking up the offering during the service and serve communion to the congregation and sharing the meaning of each item to each person as they take of the elements.

Connect Team

Do you have a passion to see everyone at church plugged into the body? Do you enjoy talking with others and identifying ways that they can get connected with church? Come serve with the Connect team. This team is stationed at the Guest Services desk in the main lobby, connecting guests with where to go and anything they are looking for. They take in connect cards, help find answers, sign people up for events/ training/classes, and really experience the one-on-one interaction with those coming to the church.

Greeter Team

Do you have a warm and welcoming demeanor? Do you enjoy lots of face-to-face interaction with others? Then the Greeter team is just for you. This team stands at all church entrances and greets every guest as they come into church. Greeters also welcome guests at all auditorium entrances and pass out bulletins.

Helping prepare and serve breakfast, greeting and talking with guests during breakfast, and cleaning up and setting up are some of the things this team does. Whether you enjoy behind-the-scenes or front-line serving, this close-knit team would love to have your help. This team arrives at 8:30am but is done in time to join in the sanctuary for the worship service at 10:30am.

Parking Team

The Parking team gets to “set the tone” for all guests coming to church as they are the first face that every guest sees. They direct all cars systematically on where to park, welcomes each guests, and directs them to the building entrances.

  • Most Guest Services Teams Serve 10:00am – 12:15pm on Sundays except where noted.
  • All teams have a rotating schedule based on the size of their group, with a goal to serve once a month.
  • All Guest Services teams check in/meet with their Coach in the Sanctuary by 10am on the mornings that they serve.
  • Communication for Service assignments/reminders is done by Team Leaders/Coaches through an online application called Planning Center.  If you have accepted a request to serve on an as needed or rotating basis, please help our Coaches by logging in to Planning Center and "block-out dates" that you will be unable to serve.  Click here for Planning Center Services: Mobile / Browser Application

JICC children's ministry

If you are passionate about making disciples with children, the JICC Kids is just the place for you! Roles range from behind-the-scenes opportunities to interacting directly with children and teaching them about Jesus (Check-in, Coordinators, Room Leaders, etc). Care is provided for infants up to five-year-olds. (Application process and background checks are needed)

You can serve during two different times:

  • Sunday School Care from 8:45 - 10:00 AM on Sundays. This time allows parents and older family members to attend classes while their young children are being well cared for. It also allows those serving to be done in time to attend the service. We usually ask for a once or twice per month commitment for this area.
  • Worship Care from 10:00 AM - 12:15 PM on Sunday / Kids Break-out from 11am-12:15pm   This is a large team of people that provide care, teaching, crafts and music for young children during the worship service. This is usually a once per month commitment as we do not wish for you to miss the worship service too often.

Production Team

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes during any service. Production Team is for those with and without experience. There are many roles that can be trained quickly and others that you can learn over time. Production roles include audio, video, camera, sound and lighting. These roles are crucial in having all services run smoothly and without distraction.

Although Sunday mornings are a great place to begin serving and meeting people, there is a growing number of opportunities to serve other than on Sunday mornings.  Volunteering with Serve Days, Administrative help, Custodial and more.
Local/Regional Mission opportunities can be found on our missions link. page.
