Core Values
Word + Spirit
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the [messenger] of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Unity + Diversity
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image,
    in the image of God he created him [unity];
    male and female [diversity] he created them.

Order + Freedom
1 Timothy 3:14-15
14 I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, 15 if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.

Discussion Questions

  1. What part from today’s message was the most helpful to you?  What was the most difficult or what did you have more questions about?
  2. Think about the story of creation and the story of the Fall.  How do they give understanding to life as we know it within the challenge of relationships?
  3. Respond to the statement with examples:  “The proper response to misuse or abuse is not disuse but proper use.”
3DQ - 3 Discipleship questions to ask each other:  What is God saying to you?  What are you going to do about it?  How can I help?

Follow up questions:  Email questions this week directly to Russ in preparation for next week’s follow up message (he loves getting emails with questions and feedback!)   russ@jicc.us
