LIGHTHOUSE KIDS
SERVING SPECIFICS

Thank you for your interest in serving the children of Lighthouse Church North Charleston! Below are a few things to know before serving with Lighthouse Kids. Please read them over before filling out the serving form.

Do I need to be a member at Lighthouse Church?
No, but we do ask that you be a regular attender.

What is required to serve?
We ask that you complete the Information Form above, submit to and pass a background check (paid for by JICC), and sit down for a chat with our Children’s Ministry Director.

What ages do we serve?
We offer childcare for children aged 6 months through 5th grade during the Sunday service time.

What if I am unable to serve on my scheduled day?
If you know in advance that you are unable to serve, we ask that you seek out another Lighthouse Kids team member to swap with you. We are here to help you with that. If it is an unexpected situation due to illness or similar, contact the director Brittanie Rees or the coordinator for that Sunday as soon as possible to let them know you will not be there.

Can I pick where I serve and who I serve with?
We make every effort to place you where and with whom you most want to be. Sometimes that may not be possible due to the current needs, but we will make it a priority to make a switch as soon as it is possible to do so.

Can youth serve in Lighthouse Kids?
It is wonderful when we have a youth helper in the room! They are more than welcome to come help out.
If the parent serves (or is beginning to), they are allowed to bring their own child with them when they volunteer. This is a great way to teach your kids about serving others. If a child wants to serve without a parent, we ask that they be at least 12 years old and have an adult prepared to serve with them and to take them under their wing. Some 12 year olds are more equipped to serve children than others, so please consider the capacity your child has before going this route.
