Discussion Questions

3DQ - 3 discipleship questions to ask each other: What is God saying to you? What are you going to do about it? How can I help?

  1. Did the holy spirit highlight anything to you through these parables?
  2. Discuss the characteristics of sheep from the sermon, specifically them being directionless and defenseless and how this calls you to rely on The Good Shepherd.
  3. Discuss the characteristics of The Good Shepherd, self sacrifice, wisdom and truth telling, and healing and restoration. How have you seen these played out in your life as you follow Jesus?
  4. Have you ever doubted the goodness of God and felt isolated? How did Jesus come after you? If you feel that way now, how does this passage encourage you?
  5. What is one step you can take to join Jesus in his mission to “seek and save the lost?”
  6. “Identity precedes purpose. You can’t know who you are until you know whose you are.” What does this Charles Martin quote mean to you in your own words? Discuss as a group.
