I. Creation itself hopes to be made new
a. It was subjected to futility
1. What does futility mean?
2. There is a cruelty in creation of this futility
b. It was subjected in hope
1. God, in His grace, gave hope even as He cursed creation
2. New heavens and new earth: a creation without corruption
II. Not just creation, but we ourselves want to be redeemed
a. Firstfruits of the Spirit
b. The Redemption of our Bodies
1. It will be imperishable (1 Corinthians 15:42)
2. It will be glorious (1 Corinthians 15:43)
3. It will be powerful (1 Corinthians 15:43)
4. It will be spiritual, fully governed by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:44)
5. It will be immortal (1 Corinthians 15:53
6. It will be like Christ's glorious resurrection body (Philippians 3:21)
7. It will bear the image of the heavenly man rather than fallen Adam (1 Cor 15:49)
8. We will never experience sickness again (Isaiah 33:24)
9. It will be free from death forever (Revelation 21:4)
10. It will be free from every effect of the curse (Revelation 22:3)
III. How to Hope
a. With patience
b. Make the unseen seen, but setting your mind on things above
