Grace Upon Grace

Mar 1, 2020    Russ Miller    BELOVED - Gospel of John

Read back through John 1:1-18. Consider that this is the beginning of John’s gospel and that he is “setting the stage” for what is to come. What one or two statements stood out to you? Write that down and share it with someone. Now consider how the rest of the gospel might point back to and reinforce the truth in that statement. Look for those passages and stories over the next few months.

Where do you experience the feeling of exhaustible resources in your life? (time, money, space, strength, etc.) Write those down. How have you responded to that lack in a way that is sinful and unfruitful? (ie. anger, being withdrawn, greed, anxiety)

Now consider the statement “we have received grace upon grace.” How does inexhaustible grace strengthen you? Where specifically do you need to apply that truth to your own hear? Where do you need to give that away to someone else?
